Abstract

This research has looked into main effect of work interference with family on burnout and work engagement as a condition under which the effect of work interference with family on burnout will be weaker or stronger. For this study, we collected primary data from 227 banking sector employees through a survey questionnaire. In addition to interaction effects, pick a point approach is used and slopes are drawn. Results showed the significant effect of work interference with family on burnout. Further, such effects were weaker for the employees high on work engagement as compared to those who were low on it. Implications are discussed herewith. Work engagement can really work like an antidote for the employees who are suffering from burnout due to their work interference with family experiences. Based on implications of this study, banking sector organizations are urged to take care of the work engagement level of their employees so that they have energetic and dedicated employees.
